It's like the space-version of Stranger Things.

Not all horror films are about haunted houses, zombies and demon possession - some of them are pure science fiction, and that's why I love Event Horizon.

I remember when this movie came out; my cousin and I, who are into a lot of the same things, watched it late at night. I wasn't sure about a scary movie in space; would it truly be the "horror" genre that I loved so much?

Yes. It was.

The movie, which was released in 1997, follows a team of scientists/space explorers led by Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill as they attempt to board the Event Horizon. It's a starship that was lost seven years ago and has reappeared - it has a time-travel machine on board that allows it to travel anywhere in the universe. And it's obviously been to some pretty freaky places, because it brought back a hot mess of ghosts.

It's an underrated horror film that became a cult classic after it was released and I hope you love it as much as I do!
