Are you dreaming of the perfect retirement destination? Although heading south may seem a popular choice, it may not be the only choice. Step aside Florida, Michigan is bringing its A-game when it comes to offering great places to retire, and that includes our own Flint.
U.S. News & World Report knows that deciding on where to spend your later years in life can be tough. You want to make sure you settle into a location that offers all the usual amenities someone desires from shopping, healthcare, and entertainment, but also a place that's safe and affordable.
To identify the best places to retire, U.S. News analyzed data for the 150 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. to assess how well they meet Americans' retirement needs and expectations. Top criteria include the happiness of local residents, housing affordability, tax rates, and health care quality", they said.

What Michigan Cities Are Ranked the Best Place to Retire in the U.S.?
For some this may seem surprising, but for Michiganders, not so much. Not one, but six Michigan cities made the list of the "Best Places to Retire in the U.S." Impressive, right? Not only did they make the list, but the majority of the six finished pretty high in the rankings. Here's how they faired:
To some, a few of these cities may seem odd, but have you visited them lately? Maybe take some time to really take a look at all they have to offer...it may be more than you think. In any case, it's nice to know Michigan is being well-represented on the list of the "Best Place to Retire in the U.S."
