Your $2 Bills Might Fetch Thousands – Here’s How To Check
Apparently, the $2 bill is having a moment. All of a sudden it appears those seemingly ordinary $2 bills in your wallet or tucked in a drawer might be worth a small fortune.
In a world where we often overlook the value of everyday items, it's easy to dismiss the significance of the humble little $2 bill. However, these seemingly common bills have the potential to hold a hidden treasure that could leave you a whole lot richer.

Issued for the first time in 1862, the notes have come and gone but never made a mark as being popular. As a matter of fact, $2 notes have been viewed as unlucky at times by those who were superstitious, and others just vied the bill as awkward to use in cash exchanges, according to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The last release was in 1976 as the United States approached its bicentennial.
If you were like my dad, you may have grabbed a few that year as collectibles or have some of the early releases your grandparents handed down. If that's the case, dig them out and listen up. Those $ 2 bills could be worth a lot more than a couple of bucks.
According to reports, the U.S. Currency Auctions website has published a list that has collectors and non-collectors alike taking a good hard look at those $2 bills. The U.S. Currency Price Guide the USCA provided shows that collectors are offering major money for the bills. Some circulated notes are going for close to $2500, with the uncirculated fetching as much as $4500.
Of course, this is all based on factors such as series year, seal color, and whether the note was circulated or not. Still, taking a look may be worth the effort. Who knows, you may be sitting on a little gold mine and be holding onto a valuable piece of history that could bring you more than just its face value.
