You can own your very own piece of the Dort Financial Credit Union Event Center. Not the actual building -- but one of the seats.

The Flint Firebirds are offering fans an opportunity to buy seats that are being removed from the Dort Event Center, as renovations are underway to replace some of the seating in the venue.

"Part of our renovations includes replacing the seating at the Center," the club noted in a press release. "For a limited time, we are offering Flint Firebirds fans the opportunity to own a piece of Flint Hockey history and secure a collectable, upper bowl stadium seat..."

Seats are available for $25 or $50, depending on the style and are being sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.

As a bonus for 2020-21 Flint Firebirds season ticket holders and sponsors are eligible to receive their seats as a complimentary gift.

If you're interested in purchasing a seat, please email Firebirds' Team President Jeremy Torrey.

COVID-19 has forced the Ontario Hockey League to postpone its 2020-21 season. Currently, regular season play is slated to begin on February 4, with OHL training camps scheduled to begin on January 23. During the league's abbreviated season, teams will primarily play opponents in their general geographic region in order to minimize travel and reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus.

The release goes on to say that the Firebirds are excited about the renovations being done to the Dort Event Center, and are anxious for fans to finally be able to see them.
