West Michigan Man Recovering From Surgery to Remove 100 Pound Scrotum Growth [VIDEO]
After surgery that took 16 hours, Dan Mauer is doing well. The Battle Creek man is recovering in Irvine, California after undergoing a procedure to remove a growth from his scrotum that weighed nearly 100 pounds.
We first told you about Mauer back in June, when the 39-year old made a public plea for help by setting up a Go Fund Me page. The procedure to correct Mauer's condition -- known as scrotal lymphedema -- is expected to cost well over $100,000. So far, the site has raised a little over $29,000.
Mauer is expected to remain in California in order to recover for a few more weeks before flying back home to West Michigan.
"Hopefully, it's the start of a whole new life for him," his father told USA Today.
