Several news sources are reporting that the Cirigliano family was spotted earlier this week at a gas station in the Upper Peninsula. All four members of the family were spotted in Gulliver along U.S. 2 east of Manistique. Police in the UP have joined the search to find the family that mysteriously disappeared earlier this week.

A West Michigan family has been missing for days and authorities are concerned that the disappearance may be linked to a bizarre 911 call made by the father Sunday (10/16) night.

Fremont police say no one has heard from the Cirigliano family in five days. Tony and Suzette Cirigliano live with their teenage sons Brandon and Noah as well as Suzette's mother. Suzette's mother, who has dementia and needs full-time care, was found wandering in the neighborhood Monday evening, after the family's disappearance.

“We don’t see any signs of violence, we don’t see any signs of foul play right now. There’s no signs of struggle inside the home,” Fremont Police Department Chief Tim Rodwell told WOOD-TV. “But everyone we’ve talked to … they all describe this to be extremely abnormal behavior from Tony and Suzette.”

Bizarre 911 Call

Chief Rodwell says Mr. Cirigliano made a call to 911 just after midnight Sunday. He said he wanted to talk with someone from the police department and needed to speak with US authorities as well.

According to WOOD-TV, Cirigliano told the 911 operator it was "a vital national interest."

“It is related to September 11th and people want to erase me from the face of the Earth. I am not crazy. (Fremont police sergeant) knows me, I am a Christian, I just need some help, and then the U.S. government will take it from here,” he said.

Family Goes Off the Grid

Since the 911 call Sunday night, no one has seen or heard from the Cirigliano family. Authorities say the family's home was locked and pets were left behind. Tony Cirigliano's cellphone cannot be located, his wife's phone was left at home and the teenage boys' phones are turned off.

Relatives tell the TV station they do not believe Tony Cirigliano is capable of hurting his family.

They may be driving a silver 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan with Michigan license plate DJL-1982.
