This Saturday is the United States Post Office's 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

It's so easy to help feed the hungry, as you don't even have to leave your house to do it. Simply place a bag or box of non-perishable food items by your mailbox on Saturday, May 11th and your mail carrier will pick it up for delivery to the food bank.

The food drive is the largest one-day food collection in the nation. Since the campaign began in 1993, donations have surpassed 1.6 billion pounds of food.

So go through your pantry. All non-perishable donations are welcome and foods that are high in protein such as canned tuna, salmon, beans and peanut butter are needed the most. Canned fruits and vegetables, whole grain, low sugar cereals, macaroni and cheese dinners, and fruit juice also top the list of most-needed items.

The Post Office thanks you for your support.
