TV News Anchor Shares Personal, Powerful Story of Sexual Abuse [VIDEO]
First, let me express my respect for TV news Anchor Amity Addrisi for being brave enough and strong enough to share her personal story of sexual abuse on TV.
The KING-5 anchor began telling her story in third-person, talking about a girl who was just four years old when she suffered at the hands of her older cousin. (Video below) She later revealed that she was the victim and that sexual abuse was an epidemic in her family, claiming her mother and grandmothers as victims as well.
Cars 108's AJ Clark revealed that she too was a victim of sexual abuse. Again, there aren't words big enough to articulate the bravery she exudes.
If you or someone you love has been the victim of abuse, we urge you to seek help. Your first step could be to call 800-656-HOPE (4673). Your call will be routed to a trained staff member from a sexual assault service provider in your area.
