Jones Has a History

Jones' other displays of bad judgment include a drunk driving arrest in April when he was found in his vehicle with his pants down, claiming to be a close personal contact of Governor Gretchen Whitmer in order to avoid charges.

Jones, a Republican from Inkster, has been outspoken in his stance against the COVID-19 vaccine. Now he's offering to write letters on behalf of anyone who is looking to skirt vaccination mandates put in place by several universities and employers throughout the state.

“If anybody needs letter from me to support you filling out an exemption for vaccination for work or school purposes, let me know,” Jones posted on Instagram. "While I cannot make any promises that my recommendations to you, and my letter in support of whatever you're submitting will solve any of your problems, or prevent any kind of potential blowback, I am happy to let you know that I went through an exemption process at my university, and received a successful exemption."

Jones accompanied the post with a meme featuring actor Jon Hamm and a quote saying, "Stop saying you did your research before you got the injection, you are the research."

It doesn't appear that Jones and Governor Whitmer have a close personal relationship now, does it?
