Mchael Field and Rob Edgecomb were told 'No' when they contacted Kid Rock's camp and asked if they could do a documentary about the Michigan rocker's 8the annual 'Chillin' the Most' cruise. But they did it anyway.

'Only God Knows Why' isn't necessarily a political film, but the two self-confessed liberal snowflakes say that booking the cruise was an exercise in crossing into enemy territory. It touches briefly on Kid Rock's endorsement of Donal Trump and how he briefly teased a Senate run.

In fact, the duo's adventure took place at the height of Rock's political publicity stunt.

"In a time when Kid Rock was teasing a potential Senate run, we armed ourselves with our greatest talents; binge drinking, eating fatty foods and loving live music to go face to face with the people we’re told are our enemies: Trump supporters."

OK, so the film is a little bit pointless. But it is a candid look into what appears to be a raucous good time, with fun-loving people from numerous backgrounds and varying political views coming together. In the words of Field and Edgecomb, "This film is about taking a chance, learning how to disagree without hating one another, and the reminder that we’re not as divided as we’re made to believe we are."
