There’s Housing for Homeless LGBTQ Kids in Grand Rapids – The Good News
More than 33% of the homeless kids in Grand Rapids identify as LGBTQ.
Several groups have come together in GR to provide safe and affordable housing for young LGBTQ Michiganders who are homeless - it's called Union House.
Grand Rapids HQ, 3:11 Youth Housing, Inner City Christian Federation, Mars Hill Bible Church and Mel Trotter Ministries have partnered up to renovate a home that has three bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchen and dining room.
A Youth Housing Mentor will be living on the second floor to help residents find more permanent housing and a case manager will also be on hand to help with jobs and budgeting.
