I know that my kid will be absolutely THRILLED about this.

Parents - I see you, and I've heard you. I've seen your Facebook and other social media posts that express panic about how to keep your kids busy this summer with the "new normal" of COVID-19. And I stand in solidarity with you.

In case you haven't noticed, places are slowly starting to open up. Holly Recreation Area has been open non-stop since the outbreak began, however, some aspects of the park were closed down like restrooms, equipment rental, and playgrounds, including the Whoa Zone at Heron Beach.

The Whoa Zone is an inflatable water park in the middle of the lake. Participants are given timed wristbands and life jackets and are invited to explore the inflatables for about 45 minutes at a time. For obvious reasons, the Whoa Zone was not set up this year.

Never fear though, parents - guess who's back?

According to their Facebook page:

It’s official!! We are in a soft open NOW Kayak & SUP Board rentals and concession stand (light snacks) available daily in June from 10-6.
.
Practice social distancing the fun way, out on the lake! We’ve increased our sanitizing & changed operational procedures to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
.
Oh & in case you’re wondering, we started installation of the WhoaZone yesterday Stay tuned for official opening date, but our goal is THIS WEEKEND!! @ Holly Recreation Area

We look forward to coming out when it's open. Until then, rent a kayak instead.
