Proceed with caution, because this may require tissues. The official trailer for 'A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood' has dropped and the world is falling in love with Tom Hanks already... again.
Though many may expect the biopic of the much-loved children's host to focus on the show he helmed from 1968-2001, the movie called 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood' is centered on Fred Rogers' relationship with journalist Tom Junod, whose life changed during his time writing a magazine profile of Rogers back in 1998.
The trailer shows star Tom Hanks sporting the iconic Rogers red sweater on the set of 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.' Hanks is completely convincing as the beloved host singing, 'Won't You Be My Neighbor?' solidifying that he was the perfect, if not only, choice to portray Rogers. He nails just about every aspect of his character, from his soft and gentle voice, to the careful way he puts on his red cardigan and ties those blue tennis shoes.
'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood' aired for 31 seasons before coming to an end, Fred Rogers died two years later in 2003. The film, directed by Marielle Heller, will be in your neighborhood on November 22nd.
