Test Drive Tuesday: Lisa Marie Checks Out the 2020 Buick Encore GX

Do you remember the cartoon The Jetsons with all their crazy technology and futuristic cars? Well I'm here to tell you, the future is NOW!

I had a chance to take to the roads recently behind the wheel of a 2020 Buick Encore GX Essence from the amazing folks over at Shea Automotive Group. With its rich black color and snazzy wheels, I knew I was in for something exceptional.

I could easily run down the eye-catching features, like the leather interior and easy-to-use touch screen controls. Or even mention the dual sun-roof that expands further back than most or the roomy rear section that opens with just a touch or even the swipe of you foot. ( I really fell in love with that technological magic). Or how about the fact that the Encore GX  has pick-up that reminded my of driving a Camero? Seriously.

Yes, this was one fantastic ride to say the least, but what I really want to mention is what really sold me. What made me see that this was no ordinary car, but a little taste of the future. I'm here to tell you, Buick is all about safety in the future.

Equipped with lane assistance, I had that extra confidence during my drive. I was warned when I was getting too close to other vehicles or if they were getting to close to me.  That was something I really loved, but my 'Jetson' moment came when I was traveling down one of those long stretches of roadway up north.

You know where you drive and drive and only catch a stop light every few miles if that? I set the cruise control and was enjoying the drive when the car began to slow down...on it's own. I was approaching a red light and the Encore was doing the thinking for me. How great is that? Not to mention during my lane changes, the Encore sped up the cruise setting automatically and then re-adjusted after to the set speed.

Now, I know we are a little way off from robot maids, and flying cars, but the Encore GX from Shea Automotive group gave a me a nice dose of a safe, stylish and innovative driving experience.
