There weren't a whole lot of surprises at the 83rd Academy Awards -- as expected, "The King's Speech" took the big prize as Best Picture. I'm very happy that Colin Firth won best actor for 'The King's Speech.' I'm also glad the movie won for best picture and original screenplay. If you haven't had a chance to see the movie, I highly recommend it.

The countdown for the Oscars has begun. The big question of course is, what movie should win best picture? My pick is still 'The King's Speech' with Colin Firth. It's a great movie and Colin Firth is one of my favorites.

If you missed the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night, you missed "The King's Speech" winning big again.  It took the award for best overall cast in a motion picture and Colin Firth won for best actor.

Oscar nominations were announced this morning.  "The King's Speech" received 12, including best picture.  Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush also received nominations for "The King's Speech."
