Strong Winds Blow Roofs off Two Michigan Schools [VIDEO]
High winds are blamed for roof damage at two Michigan schools. Part of the roof was blown off an auxiliary gym at Birch Run High School this morning. School officials in West Michigan had to evacuate about 200 students from a Barry County Elementary School, after parts of the building's roof were blown off.
Birch Run Schools Superintendent David Bush tells WNEM that students were in the gym at the time of the incident, but no students were injured.
The latter incident occurred this morning around 10 am, at the Lakewood Early Childhood Center in Woodland Township. Barry County is located about 30 miles west of Lansing.
WOOD-TV reports that there were no injuries.
