State Investigator Being Sued for Shooting Dog in Flint Raid Foul-Up
A Michigan Department of Corrections investigator is being sued, as two dog owners say he shot their animal while raiding the wrong Flint house.
Erica Moreno and Katti Putnam have filed a lawsuit in US District Court in Detroit, claiming their constitutional rights were violated. The 15-year-old dog went outside during a raid in which officers were trying to apprehend a suspect. The fugitive, however, was hiding out at house next door.
Reports say Chloe, the 58-pound mixed-breed dog survived the shooting, but lost part of her tongue and a tooth.
