Several UP Michigan Counties Flooded, State of Emergency In Effect
Sinkholes are opening and roads are washed out after severe storms over the weekend.
The flooding started after storms rolled through the area on Sunday morning.
As much as six inches of rain fell, and many roads are completely blocked by debris. And the flooding could get worse today as another 1-3 inches of rain is expected to fall.
As of yesterday afternoon, state officials announced that they had activated their State Emergency Operations Center to monitor the situation and to provide resources to residents.
Residents are being urged to stay home unless it's an emergency.
