A fitting tribute for Opening Day on Friday. 

The Detroit Tigers have a massive tribute planned to honor their late owner, Mike Ilitch: a gigantic "Mr. I" has been cut into the grass in the outfield of Comerica Park for the season opener this Friday against the Boston Red Sox.

Along with the outfield tribute, players will be wearing this patch on their uniforms:

It sounds as though the patches will be worn throughout the season, while the "Mr. I" will only be for Friday's game.
