This comes after an out-of-state individual requested a nativity scene on the lawn of the capitol, but couldn't find enough local citizens to remove it every night.

There's an ordinance against any overnight displays, so there was some difficulty in finding people to remove the display every night. Ergo, the nativity scene was scrapped.

In response to the requested nativity, a Satanist group from Detroit has requested their own display on the lawn of the capitol, with volunteers to take it down every night. The group says that they don't worship Satan, but instead, "separate superstition from deeply held religious beliefs." The display includes a cross, a snake and the message, "the greatest gift is knowledge."

It will be on display from December 21st to 23rd. You can read the full story HERE.

Aside from all the religious freedom issues, I really get ticked off when people from out-of-state poke their nose into somebody else's state, just to make a point. What do you think?
