There are six passengers and a pilot who are very glad that most of the Great Lakes are frozen over this winter.

They were all part of this recent emergency landing!

The pilot of a small seven passenger plane made a snap decision to land the small Piper plane on the frozen Lake Huron, not far from Mackinac Island.

Reports from 9&10 News say that the plane's only engine failed and the pilot couldn't keep it from stalling.

Passengers reported that the landing was very smooth, and thankfully no one sustained any injuries.

Rescue crews on snowmobiles took the stranded passengers back to St. Ignace, the plane's point of origin. or to Mackinac Island, the small plane's destination.
