New NBC Drama Will Be Set In Grosse Pointe: Details
Michigan is heading to the television spotlight once again. Following in the footsteps of such shows as Martin, Home Improvement, 8 Simple Rules, and most recently American Auto, a new show is heading our way set to have roots in the state.
NBC is set to captivate audiences with a brand-new drama series right here in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. According to Deadline, NBC announced that it has given a series orders to Grosse Pointe Garden Society. The picturesque style and close-knit community vibe provide the perfect 'backdrop' for this gripping drama.
Here's the series synopsis;
"Grosse Pointe Garden Society follows four members of a suburban garden club — Birdie (Melissa Fumero), Alice (AnnaSophia Robb), Brett (Ben Rappaport), and Catherine (Aja Naomi King) — all from different walks of life, who get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom."
The new series comes from executive producers Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs. This isn't their first series with NBC that has been set in Michigan The series, Good Girls, ran from 2018 to 2021 on NBC. It starred Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman as three metro Detroit mothers who turn to crime when they become overwhelmed by money woes.
No word as to whether any scene will be filmed in Grosse Pointe as of yet, You may remember us telling you about the new Nicole Kidman flick, Holland, Michigan had quite a bit of filming done in the actual town. That film was slated for release this year, but no word on that debut yet. As of now,
Reports cannot officially confirm if we'll be able to catch all the drama in Grosse Pointe for the upcoming NBC 2024-2025 season, but we will most definitely keep you posted.
