Miss Michigan References Flint Water Crisis at Miss America Pageant
The contestant surprised everybody with her statement-making introduction.
Can't argue with her; she has a great point.
Last night during the Miss America pageant, Miss Michigan made a big statement. She could've used the moment to rattle off her own accomplishments, but instead, she referenced the Flint water crisis.
"From the state with 84 percent of America's freshwater but none for its residents to drink, I am Miss Michigan, Emily Sioma."
Miss Michigan was NOT crowned Miss America last night; that honor went to Nina Imani from New York. But TEN POINTS to Emily for bringing up the obvious hypocrisy of our state.
