Miley Cyrus Turns Ariana Grande’s ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ Into a Symphonic Anthem
Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson hit up BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge during their on-going promo run for their joint hit "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart," which also included a killer SNL performance in New York this past weekend, btw.
As is tradition in the Live Lounge, in addition to performing their new disco-meets-country collab, Mark and Miley performed a live cover. Who did they take on? None other than Miley's real-life friend Ariana Grande. Miley and Mark put their own spin on Grande's smash Sweetener single "Not Tears Left to Cry" and we're digging it.
Accompanied by only a string section and Ronson on acoustic guitar, Miley belts out Ariana's hit about transcending a sad situation, truly making it her own.
While Grande's original is a more upbeat dance pop jam from the beginning, the acoustic, strings-only backing Miley gives her cover a more subdued, somber vibe. Miley's soaring vocals ensure there's still a glimmer of hope.
Watch the full cover of "No Tears Left to Cry" above now, then watch the pair's "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" Live Lounge performance below. Both performances are definitely worth watching.
