Michigan’s Stay-At-Home Order Extended, Some Restrictions Loosened
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is extending the state's Stay-Home-Stay-Safe Executive Order until May 15th. The announcement comes with some loosening of restrictions which will allow certain businesses to open and the public to participate in some outdoor activities.
The Executive Order, designed to further mitigate the spread of coronavirus, also requires that face masks are worn in enclosed structures if they can be medically tolerated.
Lawncare companies, landscapers, and plant nurseries will be allowed to resume operation. Stores that have been outdoor sections will no longer have to close off those aisles.
The new order also allows participation in outdoor activities such as motorized boating and golf. The use of golf carts, however, is not permitted.
Michigan residents will now be allowed to travel between multiple residences, but Whitmer is strongly discouraging Michiganders from doing so.
