Attn Coffee Fans: This is Michigan’s Most Loved Local Coffee Shop
When you're half-awake, getting ready for work or sitting at work... waiting for your java to kick in can feel like time has slowed to a crawl. College students at any of Michigan's universities need that late night cup of coffee for cramming or meet ups with friends. Maybe you just need a chill spot to recharge. Either way, the coffee must be on point.
What is the best coffee shop in Michigan?
According to Taste of Home, that shop is Ann Arbor's own Cahoots Cafe. They site creativity in drinks (always have monthly specials) and an "airy and fresh environment." Considering it's so close to University of Michigan's campus in Ann Arbor it's also a student & faculty favorite.
Don't get confused trying Cahoots Cafe for the first time.
The Cafe is located in the same building where people can rent coworking spaces, attend community or special speaker conferences. That said, the cafe hosts comedy shows, music or poetry nights and markets.
The only downside is their hours of operation:
- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
- Saturday 8am-4pm
- Sunday 9am-3pm
Students won't get to study late night, but the coworking spaces are covered.

What's unique about Cahoots Cafe's beverages?
You're going to get a great cup of coffee. That's most important. They offer a full menu of espresso, cappuccino, latte, cortadito, pour over, drop coffee and many teas. (You might want to try the organic Ginger Chili Tisane.) Need to keep it simple on a cold day? No worries. They have hot chocolate.
Be sure to save room for a variety of pastries, bagels and other treats on the menu, too.
