Michigan Waitress Gets a Huge Tip From Her Very First Customers [VIDEO]
A waitress in West Michigan was overcome with joy as her very first party left her more than $1,400 as a tip.
Chauncey Pearce is a waitress at the Beltline Bar in Grand Rapids. A group known as 'Generosity Lunch' was blessed to have Chauncey as their waitress and she was blessed by their generosity.
What is Generosity Lunch?
Each month, Generosity Lunch visits a restaurant and each member in attendance brings $100 to pay for his or her meal. After the bill is paid, the remainder goes to the server as a tip. A very, very generous tip.
This month, the group visited the Beltline Bar which specializes in Mexican food. This time, the group of 14 people kicked in a little extra. A total of $1,700 was collected, so after the food was paid for, Chauncey wound up with a balance of $1,451.41.
Delayed Reaction
As you'll see in the video below, Chauncey was overwhelmed. She tells the group how the timing of the extra money is such a blessing.
"Funny story, I gave a 30-day notice from my apartment and I was supposed to move into a house," she explains. "But that fell through."
She went on to say that because of her housing situation, she had been left to come up with $2,333 within just three weeks.
Chauncey experienced a little bit of shock as she received the tip from the group's leader and spokesman. It wasn't until a little bit of the shock wore off that the tears started to fill her eyes.
Actually, I think I felt a little something in my eye even before Chauncey did. Take a look at the video below. I'm not crying, you're crying.
