This was definitely an experience that they will never forget.

A few WWII veterans and dozens of Vietnam veterans took the honor flight from the UP to Washington D.C. on Wednesday to visit the war memorials.

John Moddie, one of the WWII vets, said that his neighbor convinced him to go. One of the flight's organizers said, “It’s just going to feel different because those guys just were not thanked for what they did, and so we got to change that.”

I have a friend who used to volunteer for the honor flights out of Milwaukee, and it was something that was very meaningful to her, and the vets she served. This means a LOT to these guys.
