What does shopping locally do for Michigan's economy? In 2017, Michiganders spent $18.5 billion with out-of-state retailers. A recent economic study by Public Sector Consultants showed that If we switched just one out of every 10 purchases to a Michigan retailer the state's economy would grow by $1.2 billion dollars and create approximately 10,000 jobs.
