Michigan Man Takes Boy With Rare Condition for Ride in Batmobile

Talk about the surprise of a lifetime!

Danny Goodman is 7-years-old and lives with his family in Bloomfield Hills. He's got a very rare condition called femoral hypoplasia-unusual facies syndrome; so rare, in fact, that only 100 people in the world have it.

He was born without one of his femurs; eventually, he had to have his right leg amputated and learned how to walk all over again. He also has a permanent tracheostomy because he was born with an airway that was far too small.

Danny's parents, Rachel and Lawrence, told FOX 2 Detroit that they've "lost count" of how many surgeries he's had, but they think it's around 13 or 14. They've also said that he's happy, no matter what his situation.

He's also a HUGE Batman fan, and that's where Barry Barber comes into the picture.

Barber doesn't know the Lawrence family, but he knows Danny's physical therapist. He also has a replica of the 1966 Batmobile. And Danny's physical therapist thought that maybe the two of them should meet, so they set up a joy ride.

Danny and his parents were invited to Barry's house last Tuesday where, after a quick costume change, he got to take a ride in the infamous Batmobile.

Watching this video, especially after our Children's Miracle Network Radiothon last week, was moving to the point of tears for us. To see something make this little boy SO HAPPY is amazing. And the fact that he's been through so much, yet his mom says that he's always happy...it's just lovely.
