Michigan Firefighters Make Birthday Visits During Quarantine – The Good News
Another great idea for anybody celebrating a birthday during the pandemic!
Firefighters in Chelsea, Michigan (about halfway between Ann Arbor and Jackson) are helping people in the community celebrate their birthdays in an unconventional way during a very unconventional time - they're making house calls (within a safe social distance, of course).
From now until April 30th, firefighters will take requests for birthday calls from Chelsea, Lima, Lyndon and Sylvan Townships. They drop by with a fire truck, sing "Happy Birthday" and take a picture (also from a safe distance) with the birthday guy/gal.
The fire chief says that one of his guys saw a fire department in Illinois doing it, and they thought it was a great idea and wanted to bring it to their community. To request a birthday call, you can email the chief at chiefarbini@chelseafire.org.
Thanks for doing what you do, guys!
