Leave it to Michiganders to turn a negative into a positive!

As you've no doubt already heard, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has been fined $10,000 for publicly blasting the officiating during last Saturday's game against Ohio State. A lot of people say that this was uncalled for, and that he was just speaking the truth. Regardless, the Big Ten says that he violated sportsmanship conduct policies.

So, a blog called maizeandgoblue had a great suggestion: match the fine with donations to the ChadTough Foundation, which was set up in honor of Chad Carr, the grandson of former MI coach Lloyd Carr, who passed away at the age of four last year from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). The foundation helps to raise money for pediatric brain tumor research and DIPG.

After less than two full days, they've exceeded their goal - raising over $18,000 for ChadTough. The foundation is now challenging the Big Ten to match a $10K donation. They'd better do it - Lord knows there's enough money wrapped up in sports that they can afford to donate it.

Thank you, Michigan fans! You can still donate HERE.
