Michigan Brewery Pays Off School’s Lunch Debts – The Good News
The owner said that he wanted to give back to the community that's given so much to them.
Mitten Brewing Company out of Grand Rapids has generously paid off all the lunch debts for the Sutton's Bay school district...and it was all after the suggestion of a bartender, who is also a substitute teacher.
Of course, Sutton's Bay is a hike from West Michigan, where the brewery is located; however, they just opened up new locations in Northport and Saugatuck.
The brewery's own nonprofit is called the Mitten Foundation and, on Tuesday, they dropped off a $2,700 check to the district to pay off the lunch debts for its over 600+ students.
