The dozen artists who will be baring it all are comprised of members of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts visual arts critique group and the Wednesday night jam group. Proceeds from calendar sales will go to the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
According to Mlive, the artists who will be featured in the fundraising calendar will be posing with artwork and musical instruments that will be strategically placed in order to keep the pictures family-friendly, relatively speaking.
Artists Expressed Creativity in Their Poses
Andrew Skinner is the executive director of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. He says the idea for the calendar has been in the works for a few years but its production was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Skinner says the artists were anxious for the opportunity to share their creativity.
“It’s kind of one of those fun projects,” he said. “I think a lot of the artists had a good time coming up with ways to pose. It sparked some imagination and creativity for them. And it’s good for the art center. Just another way to remind that we’re here for people that want to learn new skills and have some fun doing it.”
Proceeds Benefit the Arts
Calendars will be available for $10 each but are only going to be available at the LACA gift shop and at the West Short Art Fair which is scheduled for early July in Ludington.
