What are the Details?

The incident occurred on the evening of August 1 at around 6 pm. The 55-year-old cashier (whose name is being withheld) informed the customer that she had too many items to use the retailer's self-checkout system and directed her toward another cashier. The woman was accompanied by two younger females and she told the employee that one of the orders was for her daughter.

The cashier tells the Oakland County Sheriff's office that after the encounter, she took her break and went to use the bathroom.

She says that the customer then came into the bathroom, and kicked open the locked stall, hitting the employee with the door. When the employee left the restroom, she was confronted again by the customer who pulled her hair, threw her to the ground, and then punched her several times.

Police tell Detroit's WJBK-TV that the woman and her two companions drove away in a late-model green Chevrolet Traverse.

Police Still Looking for the Suspect

Police are still trying to find the suspect. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for the woman's apprehension.

Mike Bouchard is the Oakland County Sheriff. He tells the TV station that the attack was so violent that sheriff's deputies found clump of the victim's hair on the floor where the altercation occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office or call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
