Meet the Police Officer Who Changed This ‘Unadoptable’ Boy’s Life Forever [VIDEO]

Deputy Mike Gibson had no idea how much his life would change when he accepted the role of resource officer for a South Carolina elementary school.

As he forged a bond with a young boy many considered 'unadoptable,' Gibson tells WYFF the boy began calling him "Officer Dad." The boy, who had no parents of his own, had been shuffled through eight foster homes.

Gibson and his wife Kimber, who already had three children, decided to become the boy's foster parents, and eventually took steps to adopt the boy.

"He's changed ours [lives] probably more than we changed his," Kimber Gibson tells WYFF.
