A well-known pizza spot with locations in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin has announced that it is closing one of its Michigan locations.

Mancino's serves delicious pizza and grinders, according to its website. The chain was established by Samuel Mancino Sr. near St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and currently operates roughly 65 shops in six states.

Restaurants Come and Go in Michigan

Running a restaurant (or any business for that matter) is challenging in 2024. Earlier this year, we saw the demise of Bagger Dave's, as the chain announced that it was shuttering all of its remaining locations in January. A bitter family feud was deemed to be what caused all but a few Lefty's Cheese Steak restaurants to close, and Berger's Family Restaurant announced that it was closing after 96 years in business.

Which Mancino's Location is Closing?

According to Mlive, Mancino's Pizza and Grinders in Ann Arbor has announced that it will be closing on October 12.

A letter posted on the location's door thanks customers for their patronage over the years but cites touch economic conditions as the impetus for its decision to close.

“Lease renewal time has arrived, and given the present rate of inflation, increased rental, utility and labor costs, we’ve determined to suspend operations,” the owners write.

The location is run by Patrick McDevitt along with his parents Kathy and Don. They go on to say that closing the restaurant is a sad decision for their entire family.

At this time, no other Mancino's locations are slated to be closed.
