A global influence and major player in the world of technology is eyeing a new Michigan location part of a $500 billion dollar investment here in the United States. While we won't see all of that here, artificial intelligence is the main focus of their new venture here in the Great Lakes State.

What is the new Tech Location's Goal?

Although the exact location is still up in the air, a manufacturing facility will be constructed in Detroit or a close suburb. At this new Detroit facility the tech company plans for scientists and engineers to work with local experts from Michigan State and other universities. The goal is to instruct midsize companies and businesses on how to use and implement artificial intelligence.

What Tech Company is Setting Up Shop in Michigan?

Over the next three or four years Apple is set to spend a whopping $500 billion dollars which does include what they are billing at an Apple Manufacturing Academy. The company is making this move to continue to move forward and be an innovator in this fairly new world of artificial intelligence.

CEO Tim Cook said that Apple is "proud to build on our long-standing U.S. investments with this $500 billion commitment to our country’s future". He went on to say that they are doubling their Advanced Manufacturing Fund and building advanced technology in Texas in addition to the future Apple Manufacturing Academy coming to Michigan.

In addition to their new academy they also announced that a new Apple store will be opening in Detroit later this year.
