Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Starts This Weekend

The Mackinac Island Lilac Festival lasts 10 days. That's because there is so much to see and do. Lilacs are blooming on the island, take a deep breath and you can smell the floral aroma. You'll also smell foods and fudge, enjoy wine tastings, music and so much more.

Boat tours of the mighty Mackinac Bridge, A Taste of Mackinac Culinary Event, Dog and Pony Show and the festival's signature event, the all horse hitch Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Grand Parade.

The 10-day event begins today and lasts until June 17th. The island is home to numerous varieties of lilacs, many brought there during the Colonial Era.
