An 8-year-old girl stranded in the Straits of Mackinac is safe after being rescued by a Mackinac Island ferry.

According to Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry, a member of the crew on the Joliet pulled the girl to safety Monday (7/22) afternoon around 3 pm.

Up North Live reports that the girl was on an innertube that drifted about a quarter-mile from the shore of Mackinaw City. The girl was scared and cold but was doing fine when she was later reunited with her parents.
