Look Up: Norther Lights Should Be Visible This Weekend
Folks in Northern Michigan are treated to the beauty of the Northern Lights a lot more often than we are, but this weekend those of us who are considered Trolls may get to see a show.
The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G1 geomagnetic storm watch for Aug. 31. That's GeekSpeak for the Aurora Borealis making an appearance this weekend, making the Northern Lights visible Saturday and/or Sunday.
While residents of the Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Michigan will likely have a better chance of seeing the lights, those of us in Lower Michigan may be able to observe the show if the weather cooperates. A cloudless sky is best and at this point, it appears that we should be seeing only partly cloudy conditions.
