Josh Elliot Departs ‘Good Morning America’ for NBC Sports
Apparently $5 million a year wasn't enough to keep Josh Elliot at the 'Good Morning America' anchor desk. After contract negotiations fell through, the 42-year old abruptly departs GMA for NBC Sports.
Elliot, who was making $1 million per year as GMA's news reader, was demanding a hefty increase to $10 million. Elliot reportedly turned down ABC's offer to up his salary to $5 million.
News correspondent Amy Robach, who was born in St. Joseph Michigan, will replace Elliot immediately. Robach recently returned to work after recovering from a bilateral mastectomy, which was discovered during an on-air segment.
