Michigan’s Memorial Day Traffic Expected To Be Second Worst In History – Here’s What You Need To Know
AAA released its predictions for the upcoming Memorial Day traffic. The results are so sad, to say the least.
Before you host your Memorial Day cookout, here is what the traffic may look like.
Memorial Day Traffic Prediction
With the AAA announcement, they have predicted that this year's traffic will be the second worst in history!
It is anticipated that a little under 44 million Americans will be traveling 50 or more miles this holiday weekend!
Crazy, right?
That is about four percent more than last year's numbers. It almost comes close to tying with the record that was set in 2005, which was 44 million travelers.
As for driving specifically, 38.4 million Americans will be hitting the road for Memorial Day weekend.
If you plan on traveling on Thursday, May 23rd, and Friday, May 24, those are the busiest travel days that AAA predicted.
With all that, AAA is urging motorists to plan ahead accordingly for anything to happen.
If you are traveling to Detroit, the peak time that it will be highly congested is on Sunday at 8:45 PM from Kalamazoo to Detroit on I-94 E.
However, with all that negativity, it is sometimes best to travel this weekend.
