Michigan Man Accused Of Holding Family’s Dog For Ransom
A missing dog story out of Warren just shows how low some people will go.
An Alaskan Klee Kai named Diesel got loose from a home in Warren back on April 25, and like most families would, they freaked out and went straight to social media trying to find him. You’ve seen those posts a million times. Everybody shares them, hoping the dog makes it back home.
But this one… took a pretty ugly turn.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, a guy ended up messaging the family saying he had Diesel. Awesome news, right? You’d think. But instead of just doing the right thing, he allegedly wanted money to give the dog back.
What kind of person does that? Come on.
He claimed he bought the dog from someone else, but still wouldn’t return it without cash. And look, if he actually paid for the dog, sure, that sucks. But going after the family like that? Not cool.
Did Someone Really Try To Profit Off A Missing Dog In Michigan?
Police say when they tracked him down, he admitted he knew the dog belonged to that family…and still wouldn’t give it back. That’s wild.
Officers eventually took him into custody, and thankfully, Diesel was found inside the home and returned safely. Another person there actually cooperated, which helped wrap things up.

The suspect is now facing a charge for receiving and concealing stolen property.
Look, social media is great for finding lost pets… but this is the kind of thing you’ve got to watch for. There’s always someone out there willing to cash in on someone else’s loss.
That’s a new level of low.
