Lucky’s Steakhouse in Davison Closed After Failing Health Inspection
Rumors were flying on social media this week after Lucky’s Steakhouse in Davison suddenly closed its doors. What seemed to be nothing more than rumors at first turned out to be true.
Lucky's Steakhouse in Davison ordered to Temporarily Close
Lucky’s Steakhouse on Lapeer Road has been ordered to temporarily close after a health inspection by the Genesee County Health Department. The inspection took place on Wednesday, February 18, and resulted in six food code violations. Four of those were repeat issues, which is usually when things start getting more serious.

According to MLive, the closure officially started Thursday, February 19, and the restaurant will stay closed until the county signs off on reopening. A sign on the door blamed mechanical issues, but the health department report tells a different story.
Health Inspection Violations Found at Lucky’s Steakhouse
The violations included improper cooling of food, knives with dried-on food debris being stored on a magnetic holder, knives being wiped with cloths from a dirty wiping cloth bucket, food marked for eight days instead of the seven-day maximum, no paper towels at a hand sink, and knives being stored without being properly cleaned.
Records also show temperature logs were not being kept consistently since the last enforcement inspection in late January. On top of that, additional certified food managers had not been added as designated persons in charge.
How Long Has Lucky's Steakhouse Been in Davison?
Lucky’s has been a Davison Township staple since 1998 and has multiple locations across Michigan.
The big problem with violations like this is just how hard it is to bounce back. This is a major blow for a restaurant, and it is really hard to gain the public’s trust again after something like this.
For now, it is a wait-and-see situation until inspectors give the green light to reopen.
