Is It Illegal to Open Someone Else's Email in Michigan?

It may not feel like you're doing something criminal when you're going through someone else's email but you are. According to Lewis & Dickstein, opening someone else's email in Michigan without their permission is illegal.

"If an individual accesses another person’s emails, texts, or other messages without their consent, it can be considered a violation of privacy laws."
