Take a Look Inside Flint’s Abandoned Zimmerman Center School
Take a look inside what was once Zimmerman Center School in Flint, MI.
Unfortunately, you don't have to travel very far in Flint, Michigan to find an abandoned building. Today, we'll take a look inside the abandoned Zimmerman Center School on Corunna Road. It is definitely sad to see what the building looks like today.
Zimmer Center School was located at 2421 Corunna Road and has seen some issues since it closed down many years ago. The school was closed back in 2013 due to a $16.5 million budget deficit within the Flint Community Schools district. The Flint Fire Department was called to the location to put out a small fire in the building back on October 31st, 2021.
Even though the building may be considered an eye-sore for the city, you can't deny the chaotic beauty of the photos below. Not much of an effort was taken to clean out the building after it was closed. Many items still remain such as books, computer monitors, and more. It looks like the teachers and students just dropped everything they had on the final day and walked out.

I just wish that community officials and residents could find a way to work together to do something with this property. Everyone has different ideas, yet no one can agree so this building and others like it will continue to wither away.
