Town-by-Town Mid-Michigan Snowfall Predictions for January 12-14
UPDATED AT 6:45am ON 1/12/23
Mid-Michigan's first significant snowstorm of the season is poised to strike over the weekend, and could bring up to two feet of snow in some areas, according to one forecast service.
Comparing Forecasts
All forecasters are in agreement that a major snowstorm will affect Lower Michigan beginning by midday Friday and continuing through early evening Sunday. However, exactly how much snow any given area can expect is a subject for debate.
AccuWeather expects much of Mid-Michigan to see up to a foot of snow, with some isolated areas seeing up to 24". The National Weather Service generally projects lower total accumulations.

Here's what WILX News 10 First Alert Meteorologist Darrin Rockcole has to say:
As for accumulation, this will be the biggest snow of the season so far. A good overall snowfall amount today through Saturday will be 5-9′' for the area. Some areas could see more. Greater snowfall totals are expected across western and northern Michigan.
Rockcole adds that there's a small chance of a changeover to rain for part of Friday night, or perhaps mixed precipitation in some areas. If this were to occur, it would result in lower overall snow accumulations.
