Michigan is the Great Lakes State. Michigan claims 4 of the 5 Great Lakes. No other state can claim more than 2. So it should be surprising to learn that in a survey of the Best Cities on the Great Lakes, Michigan goes 0-5.

Here's how it breaks down.

The survey was conducted on the Geography subreddit of Reddit with users being asked which was the best city on each Great Lake.

How Reddit Graded the Best Cities on the Great Lakes

Here are the top results:

  • Lake Superior: Duluth

The only Michigan locations to make the medal stand were a 2nd place for Marquette as best city on Lake Superior and Traverse City nabbed 3rd best city on Lake Michigan.
