Ice Causes Power Outages + Exploding Transformers in Michigan [VIDEO]
An ice storm that gripped Michigan early Wednesday morning caused numerous power outages throughout the state. While only a few hundred Consumers Energy customers were without power Wednesday afternoon, around 50,000 customers on Michigan's west side were in the dark.
A listener in Grand Rapids submitted the video below to our sister station, Mix 95.7. It shows an explosion that happened at a power transformer near the city's downtown area.
